The story behind the journal
It began
with a little patch.
A personal beginning. A lasting wish to share.

California Lavender Living is the lifestyle and editorial home of Central Coast Lavender, founded by Lila Avery-Fuson in Paso Robles, California.
The lavender patch began for Lila personally. She never intended to build a business. The years that followed brought growing, distillation, formulation, and opportunities to pass that knowledge to others.
This journal follows a particular part of that story: lavender as a companion to ordinary life. The garden and the home. The changing seasons and the memories they hold. The pleasure of learning something and sharing it simply.
Experience, offered openly.
Lila founded the Central Coast Lavender Growers Association and was a founding vice president of the United States Lavender Growers Association. Her work has included education, membership, and mentoring growers over the years.
California Lavender Living brings that same spirit to an editorial setting. Its notes invite curiosity and conversation, while Central Coast Lavender remains the home of the estate’s products, fuller founder history, and inquiries.

A useful idea can begin with a simple question. Lila continues to make time for those conversations, sharing what years of living with lavender have taught her.
